Research Interests

Qiao’s research interest is on cell engineering using polymer-based biomaterials. Qiao joined the group in 2020 with Chancellor’s International Scholarship from University of Warwick and her PhD project focused on cell surface engineering with biomaterials using metabolic glycan engineering for biomedical applications of gene transfection and cryopreservation (Chem. Sci. 2024). Prior to PhD, Qiao undertook a three-year master’s program of Chemistry at Renmin University of China and completed her research work jointly at Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with research focus on liposome-based CRISPR/Cas genome editing (Angew. Chem. 2020, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 2019, Chem. Commun. 2019, J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2019).
